The temple of Shri Sanwaliya Seth (also written Sanwariya Seth or Sanwaliya Ji) at Mandaphiya is one of the most visited Krishna temples in Rajasthan. Devotees from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and beyond come here to seek blessings – and many traders even consider Sanwaliya Seth their business partner. If you are planning a darshan, Chittorgarh is the most convenient base, and a taxi is the easiest way to get there.

About Shri Sanwaliya Seth

According to local belief, a milkman dreamt of idols of Lord Krishna buried in the ground near the village of Bhadsoda-Bagund. When the spot was dug up, three idols were found. Today they are worshipped at three temples: the main temple at Mandaphiya, another at Bhadsoda, and the Prakatya Sthal (place of appearance) where the idols were discovered.

The main temple at Mandaphiya is a grand structure of carved pink stone. Its offering boxes (bhandar) are famous for the huge donations they receive – a sign of the deep faith devotees place in “Seth” Sanwaliya, who is believed to bless business and prosperity.
